The top on was the view from our Hotel looking down the street. I didn't do too much editing on the photos once I got them back (the photos were put on a CD for free) as I wanted to keep the rawness of the photos. That is one reason why I decided to get a film camera as when you take a photo you can can see all the little imperfections, no tweaking, no digital look, just a raw image. However I did brighten the colours a bit and define the blacks a little, just to bring the picture to life a little.
The middle picture is of the River Seine, by the Notre Dame. I rested the camera on the ledge to get the view a long the top of the wall. I tried to get the ivy infront of the lens in focus. With this photo I did some similar editing as with the picture above, but made the blacks much less harsh. I tried to bring out the green from the trees and ivy, but with it being a dull day and not having as much light it was tough to do just using lightroom.
The bottom and final picture was taken on the last day. It was sunny and we decided to take a walk to the Louvre. On the way we saw this arch, which was a memorial. We sat on a bench, ate our lunch and soaked up the last of the Paris atmosphere. There were bushes, trees and plants all around, with some old style street lamps. The picture, to me, looked like Paris in the 20th century, with less of the hussle and bussle, less cars, less stress. It was a peaceful spot in a busy city! As the the picture above I brightened up the colours a little, and defined a very small amount of the blacks. This was one of the few pictures I did very little editing on.
